Product Care

Every piece of Satomi Kawakita Jewelry is thoughtfully designed and delicately handcrafted. Follow these simple guidelines to ensure your jewelry will always stay beautiful.

Apply all beauty products, such as perfume, hairspray or deodorant, before putting on your jewelry.  Jewelry should be removed prior to swimming or doing household chores which involve the use of abrasive cleaners or chemicals.

Silver:  Wipe your jewelry gently with a soft cloth after you have worn it.  Storing silver jewelry in a Ziploc bag limits the tarnishing process.  If you would like to restore your jewelry’s lustrous finish, a soft brush (such as a toothbrush) and a mild detergent will easily and swiftly remove any signs of tarnish. Then rinse the piece and set it on a paper towel to dry. You can also use a silver polishing cloth, which is available from most jewelers. Silver dipping solutions are also helpful for detailed pieces.  Please avoid wearing your jewelry in natural hot springs, as silver tarnishes a great deal when exposed to salty air and products containing sulfur.  (For Oxidized Silver: Excessive cleaning may remove its finish.  Please avoid ultrasonic cleaning or any form of liquid cleaning.)

Gold and Platinum:  Wipe your jewelry gently with a soft cloth after you have worn it and store it in a cool, dry place.  We recommend a professional ultrasonic cleaning service at your local jeweler for a much deeper cleaning.  (For Black Rhodium Gold:  Please avoid ultrasonic cleaning or any form of liquid cleaning solution.)

Diamonds and Other Gemstones: Wipe your jewelry gently with a soft cloth after you have worn it.  Do not store your diamond jewelry next to other jewelry pieces as this may lead to unsightly scratches. We recommend a professional ultrasonic cleaning service at your local jeweler for a much deeper cleaning.  (For Pearls:  Please avoid ultrasonic cleaning or any form of liquid cleaning solution.) Should you require any further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.

We will be happy to answer any of your queries.

Cleaning and Inspection Service

Satomi Kawakita Jewelry provides Free Cleaning and Inspection services to our customers for engagement/wedding rings with stones. Feel free to make an appointment or contact us whenever you feel your ring is starting to look dull and needs to be cleaned and/or inspected.

We recommend that rings with stones be inspected every 6 months to a year. Please note that for rings with stones, this service will include an inspection of the stone settings. Stone settings will be tightened, and missing or loose diamonds replaced or reset without cost for up to 2 years post-purchase, as long as they are due to manufacturing defects (as determined by the studio). All repairs on stone settings after 2 years post-purchase will require a fee for labor and/or materials costs.

Repair Service
Satomi Kawakita Jewelry is committed to providing reliable, quality and trustworthy expertise with every purchase of jewelry. We guarantee free repair service for one (1) year from the date of your purchase. This applies only to manufacturing defects, and does not cover damage resulting from normal wear-and-tear, physical abuse, misuse, and negligence.

To request a repair, please contact us before returning the item. Once a repair is authorized, further instructions will be emailed to you. Repair costs and times may vary for damages caused by an accident on the customer’s part. Repair

Ring Resizing

The ring resizing service is available with a fee and a shipping cost, but only for a ring which was purchased directly from Satomi Kawakita Jewelry. If you have purchased a ring through a retailer and require a resizing, please kindly contact us prior to resizing with an outside jeweler, and let us know from which retailer the ring was purchased.

Please note that the resizing service is dependent on the ring’s design and how big or small it can become. Additionally, some of our rings are not resizable because of their unique design and the materials they are made from. Please contact us for further information with regards to this, as well.
